Romance and Weddings Abound in St. Augustine:

With more than 20 award-winning bed & breakfast inns located in a setting of seaside elegance and Mediterranean
ambiance, St. Augustine has become an ideal location for weddings and romance. Unique packages such as a
wedding on the grounds of the St. Augustine Lighthouse combined with a festive trip across the bay on the harbor
shuttle, and transportation from the docks to an historic inn by horse-drawn carriages is just one of many
possibilities to be found here.

Visit Elegant Ponte Vedra:

With a name derived from a famous hoax played on journalists in the 1920s, Ponte Vedra is the home of some of
Florida’s most exclusive resorts. The elegance of the historic, seaside Ponte Vedra Inn and Club and the
contemporary charm of the nearby Sawgrass Marriott Resort and Spa set the standard for resorts on Florida’s
First Coast.

Art in America’s Ancient City:

St. Augustine is home to over 25 art galleries and is included in Jon Villani's 100 Best Small Art Towns in America.
In addition to the "First Friday Art Walks" and "Uptown Saturday Night", a juried art and craft festival is held twice a
year. Other activities include the Beaux Arts Ball, Women’s Escape to the Inns and Arts of St. Augustine and
various activities and programs.

Natural Attractions of SAPV&B Growing in Popularity:

Visitors to St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches are discovering the "natural" attractions of one of the
Nation’s most intriguing coastal environments. Not to be missed are guided kayak tours, hikes along seaside trails
and spring and summer tours of the bird rookery at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm - get a close-up look at
thousands of wild, nesting birds and their guardian alligators.

Bridge of Lions Saved:

At a time when progress often tramples the past into the dust, the people of St. Augustine chose to forgo the
temptation of getting a new, modern multi-lane highway bridge in order to save the venerable Bridge of Lions - one
of the ancient city’s most famous landmarks. During the next few years, the Spanish Renaissance drawbridge
linking the city with Anastasia Island will be renovated to return it to its 1927 glory when it was proclaimed "the
grandest bridge in Dixie." Once on the National Historic Preservation Society’s list of the most threatened sites in
the nation, the bridge will now serve as link between yesterday and tomorrow for generations to come.

History on Every Street Corner:

With more than 440 years of history to explore, St. Augustine offers exciting stories from every chapter of America's
history. Spanish conquistadors... marauding pirates... defenders of a colonial empire... slaves and slave hunters...
American frontiersmen and women... explorers of a tropical wilderness... Seminoles,,, the nation’s social elite,,, civil
rights champions... they’re all here in the city’s 144-square-block historic district and 37 structures on the national
register of historic buildings.

Visit First Free Black Settlement in U.S.:

Recent explorations have revealed the site of Fort Mose (Moe-say), the first free black community in the United
States. Nearly a century before runaway slaves sought sanctuary in the North via the Underground Railway, many
found their freedom by escaping to Spanish Florida. Fort Mose State Park has a fascinating story that is waiting to
be told.

Beaches Connect the Stories:

From the resort beaches of Ponte Vedra, southward to the remote and untrammeled sands of Anastasia State Park,
to the wide, white sand of Crescent Beach with its traditional automobile access, the areas 42 miles of magnificent
high-energy Atlantic beaches form the background to our stories. Surfing, windsurfing, kite boarding, sea turtles,
plus the national beach paddle tennis championships are all here. The one thing we’re missing that are found on
other Florida beaches are towering condos - no building can exceed 35 feet in height here - including along our
oceanfront.

Destination Dining Simplified:

The newly-formed St. Augustine Independent Restaurant Association (SAiRA), a collection of 13 of the finest independently-owned restaurants in St. Augusitne, provides dining choices that celebrate the culinary and cultural diversity that is unique to northeast Florida. SAiRA dining establishments are among the —local” favorites and offer experiences that range from European fine dining and sidewalk bistros to rustic waterfront grills and seaside eateries. And, the organization offers a certificate/voucher program that allows the diner to choose where they want to eat – the perfect option for a destination dine-around program.
